Patient Guards Patient Advocates Terms of Membership

  1. Scope of Services Patient Guards provides members with access to patient advocacy services, including but not limited to: unlimited consultations, educational resources, and assistance with medical bill disputes. Additional fees may apply for efforts requested by a Member to act on behalf of or in support of the patient according to the fees as indicated on the Patient Guards website. We do not provide financial advice or services.
  2. Membership and Fees Membership is on an individual basis. A one-time fee grants access to Patient Guards services. Additional family members may be added for a $5 fee per additional family member. We reserve the right to request supporting information to determine family relationships.
  3. Member Responsibilities To effectively assist members, Patient Guards requires certain information. Members must have the following available when making inquiries: the bill received, the medical record, the claim form, the EOB, and insurance plan ID and benefits description. Inquiries made without this information may be deferred until it is provided.
  4. Unlimited Question Support Patient Guards offers unlimited question support via chat, email, text message, and phone. Additional services may incur a fee according to the services indicated on the Patient Guards website. This may include Appeals, Disputes, Negotiations, and other services extending beyond the answer of a specific inquiry.
  5. Limitation of Liability Patient Guards does not guarantee the resolution of any medical bill issue. While we strive to provide excellent service, we cannot be held liable for any damages, losses, or costs incurred by the member. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. We will provide details of all actions taken and responses received from all parties
  6. Hold Harmless Member agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Patient Guards, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of or in connection with member’s use of the services.  
  7. Dispute Resolution Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms of Membership shall be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts located in the State of Nevada, and member consents to personal jurisdiction and venue in such courts.
  8. Amendment Patient Guards reserves the right to modify these Terms of Membership at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
  9. Termination Membership may be terminated by either party at any time.
  10. Refund Policy: As a term of service, Membership fees are not refundable. Fees for services performed are not refundable. Should a Member feel entitled to a refund, they agree to submit a request in writing clearly stating the basis for the request. These will be considered on a case by case basis. Members agree that decisions of Patient Guards are final.
  11. HIPAA Disclaimer: Patient Guards takes the security and privacy of our members very seriously. Members understand that Patient Guards is not a Covered Entity under HIPAA definitions and rules and therefore are not subject to HIPAA regulations. Patient Guards maintains observance of HIPAA standards as a minimum standard and in some cases our standards are more rigorous to ensure that our Members are always secure and their privacy is assured. To effectively conduct efforts on behalf of Members where requests, it is understood that the HIPAA exceptions of “Treatment, Payment, and Operations” are recognized to allow us to effectively serve our Members.
